Actors Smriti Irani and Sakshi Tanwar recently delighted fans by reuniting for a special crossover episode of ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2’ with ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii’. Following the buzz around promotional clips and behind-the-scenes photos, Smriti Irani took to Instagram to share a selfie with Sakshi, fondly reminiscing about their time together.
In her heartfelt caption, Smriti revealed that she and Sakshi have shared a friendship spanning two and a half decades. She confessed that neither of them anticipated the immense ‘ruckus’ their iconic characters, Tulsi and Parvati, would create. “Grace, grit and gorgeousness—there are many adjectives that I can ascribe to Sakshi but what I can’t describe is how it felt to embrace the memory and reality of her after 2.5 decades of camaraderie. We didn’t know the ruckus Tulsi Parvati created for we were not chasing history, we happen to make it while chasing excellence,” Smriti wrote.
She further expressed her admiration for Sakshi, stating that mere complimentary phrases wouldn’t suffice to describe her. “To say she is a loving mother, a doting daughter, an authentic human being — is to reduce her to just complimentary phrases, to bind her to mere words … so what do you say to her for this is one person that can make even silences speak. You are loved Sakshi and I hope you know you are home, hope and all heart,” Smriti added.
Bhumi Pednekar joined the conversation by commenting with red heart emojis, while fans flooded the comments section, calling the duo ‘legends’ and expressing how their reunion evoked cherished childhood memories.
The special episode saw Tulsi and Parvati, along with other beloved characters like Kiran Karmarkar’s Om and Amar Upadhyay’s Mihir, come together. On the 25th anniversary of ‘Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii’, Parvati’s appearance on the show to pledge her support to Tulsi was a treat for fans who have followed their journeys for years.
