The highly anticipated Skoda Octavia RS is officially making its comeback to India, and you can now reserve yours! Skoda Auto has opened bookings for this performance sedan with a token payment of Rs 2.5 lakh. This marks a significant return for the Octavia RS, which first captivated Indian enthusiasts in 2004 as the nation’s inaugural turbo-petrol passenger car.
Exclusivity is key with the new Octavia RS, as only 100 units are slated for India this year. Each vehicle will be meticulously built in the Czech Republic and will be available in five striking colors: Blue, Black, White, Red, and the eye-catching Mamba Green. Online bookings began on October 6th, with the official price reveal scheduled for October 17th. Deliveries are projected to start from November 6th.
Under the hood, the Octavia RS boasts a potent 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine, churning out an impressive 265 hp and 370 Nm of torque. This power is seamlessly delivered through a seven-speed DSG gearbox. Skoda proudly states that the sedan can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in a swift 6.6 seconds, reaching a top speed of 250 kmph. To underscore its athletic capabilities, the RS model features a chassis lowered by 15 mm compared to the standard Octavia and is equipped with a distinctive sports exhaust system.
Beyond its performance, the Octavia RS sports refreshed design elements, including advanced LED Matrix headlights with integrated DRLs, sharper, more dynamic body lines, and stylish 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin is designed for a driver-focused experience, featuring sporty seats, a large 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a suite of other premium features. The iconic “RS” badge, synonymous with “Rally Sport,” continues to represent a perfect blend of high-performance engineering inspired by motorsport and practical everyday usability. Its predecessor was phased out in April 2023 due to BS6 Phase-2 regulations, making this return even more exciting for fans.
