A year ago, Bloober Team’s highly anticipated remake of Konami’s iconic survival-horror title, Silent Hill 2, launched for consoles and PC. Now, there’s buzz that this acclaimed horror revival might soon reach an even wider audience.
Reports from Dealabs, corroborated by Insider Gaming, suggest that Silent Hill 2 is slated to arrive on PS Plus Extra on October 21st, “barring any last-minute surprises.” While Sony has yet to confirm this, such a release would perfectly align with the Halloween season.

The game plunges players back into the psychological torment of James Sunderland, who is drawn to the eerie town of Silent Hill by a letter from his deceased wife, Mary, three years after her passing. What he discovers is not a tender reunion, but a chilling nightmare born from his own guilt and despair. This harrowing narrative also forms the foundation for the upcoming live-action film sequel, Return to Silent Hill, set to hit theaters on January 23, 2026.
Earlier this year, Konami revealed that Bloober Team is also tackling a remake of the very first Silent Hill, the PlayStation classic that started it all in 1999. Piotr Babieno, CEO of Bloober Team, has expressed a keen interest in bringing more horror experiences to the potential Nintendo Switch 2, following the release of Cronos: The New Dawn.
Meanwhile, the newest entry in the franchise, Silent Hill f, launched last month to significant success, selling 1 million copies within its first 24 hours. GameSpot’s review of Silent Hill f praised it with a 9/10, hailing it as a powerful return to the series’ roots.
