Singer and lyricist Shruti Pathak, who has performed over 2,000 shows globally, is finally set to experience Navratri in her hometown, Ahmedabad, from the stage for the first time. “Performing in Ahmedabad is like playing on home turf; it feels comfortable and familiar,” Pathak shares, highlighting the special connection she has with the city and its music-loving audience.
Pathak, known for hits like ‘Paayaliya’ from Dev D and ‘Soniye Dil Nayi’ from Baaghi 2, fondly recalls Ahmedabad during Navratri: “There were no time restrictions back then. We used to play music until the early hours of the morning, followed by indulging in street food. The city truly came alive with joy and music.”
Now, years later, she eagerly anticipates bringing that same magic to her performance. “It’s a dream come true to finally celebrate the festival on stage and relive my childhood memories from a new perspective. It’s going to be a truly enriching experience,” she says.
Her performance will naturally feature ‘Shubhaarambh’ from Kai Po Che!, a song that has become a Navratri anthem. “I’m incredibly proud to have written and sung ‘Shubhaarambh’. It will be amazing to see thousands of people dancing to it right in front of me,” Pathak expresses.
Reflecting on her journey from classical training in Ahmedabad to international recognition, Shruti Pathak hopes to inspire aspiring musicians. Her advice is simple yet profound: “Follow your heart and your passion, and opportunities will arise. Focus on becoming one with your art and giving your best; the rest will follow naturally.”
