Arrow Video has been delivering fantastic Blu-ray editions of beloved ’90s films, and their latest announcement is nothing short of smokin’. Fans can now preorder a stunning new 4K Blu-ray restoration of "The Mask" for an incredible price. Originally $60, it’s now just $35. Mark your calendars for its November 11th release! If you happened to preorder at the full price, rest assured that the retailer will automatically adjust your order to reflect this amazing 42% discount.

This limited-edition 4K Blu-ray features the classic Jim Carrey film, The Mask, a cinematic gem from 1994. It’s currently available for preorder at a significant discount, reduced from $60 to $35, and is scheduled for release on November 11.

Released in 1994, "The Mask" solidified Jim Carrey’s status as a Hollywood superstar, being one of three blockbusters he starred in that year. Carrey’s unique talent for physical comedy and his incredibly expressive face were instrumental in bringing the dual role of the unassuming Stanley Ipkiss and his chaotic alter-ego to life. Director Chuck Russell’s vision was a significant risk for New Line Cinema, but it paid off spectacularly, raking in an impressive $351 million at the box office.

The film’s immense popularity spawned an animated series, though a subsequent sequel is best left forgotten.

This pristine new release boasts a 4K restoration from the original camera negative by Arrow Video, personally approved by director Chuck Russell. It supports High Dynamic Range (Dolby Vision and HDR10), features lossless stereo, DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround sound, and a brand-new Dolby Atmos mix for an immersive audio experience.

As with other Arrow Video gems, this Limited Edition offers a reversible sleeve with two distinct cover art options: one showcasing Carrey’s iconic, toothy grin from the original theatrical poster, and another minimalist yet striking image of the Mask ready to P-A-R-T-Y. Inside, you’ll discover an illustrated booklet featuring fresh insights from author Alexandra Heller-Nicholas and original production notes, a double-sided fold-out poster with two unique artwork designs, and six postcard-sized reproduction art cards.

Love the Film? Dive into The Original Mask Comics!

The Mask Omnibus Editions
The Mask Omnibus Editions

The iconic film "The Mask" was actually an adaptation of a much darker comic book miniseries published by Dark Horse Comics. While the movie presented a lighthearted, live-action Looney Tunes vibe with Jim Carrey, the source material was considerably grittier, featuring far more over-the-top and graphic violence. Jim Carrey’s Stanley Ipkiss is a lovable, big-hearted loser, but his comic book counterpart is far less endearing. Upon acquiring the mystical mask, the comic book Ipkiss swiftly wields its power to brutally exact revenge on anyone who has wronged him.

  • The Mask Omnibus Volume 1 (Paperback) — $23.62 (originally $30)
  • The Mask Omnibus Volume 2 (Paperback) — $30

Some of the comic’s intense scenes were toned down significantly for the film. For instance, the mechanics who extort Ipkiss in the movie are merely humiliated by his alter-ego. In the comics, however, they meet a gruesome end. Other characters are coldly gunned down, and Ipkiss’s story in the comics doesn’t conclude with a happy ending. If you’re curious to explore the absurdly violent origins of "The Mask," you can grab the first "The Mask Omnibus Edition" now. After the film became a blockbuster, more comics were produced, but the original mini-series by John Arcudi and Doug Mahnke remains a grim, classic tale about revenge and the corrupting nature of absolute power.
