Marvel Rivals is turning up the spooky fun this Halloween with a ton of exciting events, and the best part? You can grab an exclusive Blade skin without spending a dime! This isn’t just any skin; it’s the epic ‘Blade Knight’ outfit, which reimagines the Daywalker as the legendary Moon Knight for a unique Halloween look.
To unlock your Blade Knight skin, you’ll need to participate in the ‘Voyage to Astonish’ event. This special rewards board is directly linked to the ‘Marvel Zombies’ event. As you complete missions, primarily within the Marvel Zombies mode, you’ll earn ‘Lanterns’. Use these Lanterns to roll your piece on the Voyage to Astonish board. Each roll guarantees a new reward, meaning you’ll need a total of 21 Lanterns to claim every single prize. While the Blade Knight skin is completely free, there are also premium rewards available through an event pass for 690 Lattice ($7). You’ll find the Blade Knight skin towards the end of the reward track, so prepare to collect several Lanterns to reach it.

Both events are scheduled to run until November 14th, so don’t miss out!
Unleash Mayhem in Marvel Rivals’ Marvel Zombies Event
The Marvel Zombies event introduces a thrilling limited-time PvE mode where up to four players must band together to battle relentless hordes of zombies. This mission unfolds across multiple waves, culminating in two epic boss encounters: first against Namor, and then a final showdown with the Scarlet Witch.
You’ll find a series of 10 daily missions to complete within Marvel Zombies or regular matches, accessible under the ‘Voyage to Astonish’ tab. A new mission unlocks each day, but you’ll need to clear the previous one to progress. Additionally, a dedicated Marvel Zombies mission tab offers extra missions for clearing each difficulty level, rewarding you with more Lanterns and minor cosmetics like sprays and titles.

As you play Marvel Zombies, you’ll earn skill points to power up your chosen characters for future runs. There are five unique characters available:
- The Punisher
- Magik
- Thor
- Blade
- Jeff the Land Shark
Given the limited hero roster, you’re permitted to have duplicate heroes on your team. Interestingly, Jeff the Land Shark’s abilities have been tweaked in Marvel Zombies to prioritize damage output, though he retains some healing capabilities. Each character boasts variants of their standard abilities, and extensive skill trees allow you to tailor your playstyle. You can even reset these skill trees at any time to experiment with different builds. Beyond skill points, you’ll unlock new ability variants at levels 10*, 15, and 25.
*Note: While the first ability is listed as unlocking at level 10, some players have found it available at level 5.
Character leveling is streamlined: completing missions and earning XP from defeating zombies and objectives will level up all your characters simultaneously. So, if your Jeff the Land Shark gains four levels in a match, every other character on your roster benefits equally.
Mastering Marvel Zombies

The Marvel Zombies mode features seven escalating difficulties, each unlocking after you successfully complete the previous one:
- Normal
- Hard
- Extreme
- Nightmare I
- Nightmare II
- Nightmare III
- Nightmare IV
Every mission generally follows the same structure: you’ll navigate through small zones, clearing out zombie hordes as you advance. Points earned during combat can be spent between rounds to purchase temporary upgrades, much like a roguelike game. You’ll be presented with three upgrade cards, the option to reroll for a single point, or a ‘mystery spin’ for 15 points. These mystery spins, also obtainable by completing special in-mission objectives, can grant multiple cards, duplicate existing ones, or offer other powerful bonuses.

While there are various objectives throughout each mission, the two major challenges are the boss battles. Against Namor, he’ll occasionally become invincible, but you can always deal damage by destroying the numerous squid turrets he deploys.

The Scarlet Witch boss fight has one critical phase: her ultimate ‘Reality Erasure’. Once her health is low enough (indicated by multiple health bars), she’ll start charging this devastating attack. A small progress bar beneath her health signifies the remaining time. You must defeat her before this bar depletes. Small red crystals will periodically appear during her charge, which, if destroyed, will slightly extend your time. Don’t forget that critical hits are effective against bosses and are crucial for delivering the necessary damage to secure victory!
