Actress Sara Khan, recently married to Krish Pathak, has spoken out against online trolls criticizing her interfaith marriage. In an Instagram video, Khan expressed gratitude to her fans for their love and support, while also directly addressing the negativity surrounding her union with Pathak.
Khan elaborated on the religious differences between herself and Pathak, stating that both their faiths teach love and respect. She highlighted that their families have instilled values of respecting others and avoiding harm, which they both share. “Krish and I belong to different cultures, but we believe both our religions taught us love. Our families taught us to respect others first and not to hurt anyone. We also think so, we think alike…I want to thank all the positive well-wishers for your immense love,” she shared in the clip.
Addressing the negative comments, Khan emphasized that no religion promotes disrespect towards other faiths or beliefs. She asserted that their marital status is shared with well-wishers, not for seeking approval, as they already have the backing of their families and the law. “Any relation with my God is mine, completely mine. No one has any right to comment between me and my God. No religion teaches you to say bad words or interfere in someone’s life,” she added.
The couple plans to honor both their faiths with a Nikah ceremony and a traditional ‘Pahadi Shadi’ with proper pheras. Khan shared the video with a caption expressing her gratitude and love for her fans. Pathak responded by quoting lyrics from the Shah Rukh Khan song “Tujh mein rab dikhta hai.”
Sara Khan is known for her roles in popular television serials like ‘Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai’ and ‘Preet Se Bandhi Ye Dori Ram Milaayi Jodi’. This marks Sara’s second marriage; she was previously married to actor Ali Merchant from 2010 to 2011.
