In a recent conversation, spiritual leader Sadhguru and filmmaker Namit Malhotra discussed the highly anticipated film ‘Ramayana’. The film is set to feature Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash, the popular actor known for his role as ‘Rocky Bhai’ in ‘KGF’, as Ravana.
During their discussion, Sadhguru expressed surprise at Yash’s casting as the antagonist Ravana. He mentioned his familiarity with Yash and wondered about the rationale behind casting him in such a role. Namit Malhotra attempted to explain the decision, stating that they were looking for a superstar-level actor to embody the significance of Ravana’s character.
However, Sadhguru elaborated on his perception of villains, suggesting that they traditionally possess more pronounced, less conventionally attractive features. He specifically pointed out that villains often have blunt noses and imposing stature, contrasting this with Yash’s recognized handsome appearance. Namit Malhotra acknowledged Yash’s talent and popularity but also hinted at the complexity of the character, stating, “There had to be a lot of shades of Ravana in terms of why he was who he was. And he was a devout believer of Shiva.”
