On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, Russia issued a strong rebuttal to former U.S. President Donald Trump’s assertions that its economy was facing imminent collapse, specifically dismissing warnings about widespread gasoline shortages.
The previous day, Tuesday, October 14, Trump had voiced his dissatisfaction with Russian President Vladimir Putin, stating that Putin appeared unwilling to bring an end to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. This comes amidst earlier reports suggesting Trump’s readiness for “phase two” of sanctions against Russia in response to the Ukraine conflict.
Addressing these concerns, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak affirmed that Russia maintains a stable domestic supply of gasoline. “We have a stable domestic market supply, and we foresee no issues in this area,” Novak explicitly stated.
He further elaborated, “The balance between production and consumption is being meticulously maintained, and both the government and relevant ministries are fully committed to ensuring this stability continues.”
