Actress Rupali Ganguly and her husband, businessman Ashwin K Verma, are eagerly anticipating Karwa Chauth 2025, a festival they embrace with joy each year.
Rupali shared, “I’ve seen how my in-laws enjoyed celebrating Karwa Chauth, and it’s a legacy I wish to continue. Even with my busy shooting schedule over the past five years, my team makes sure I get home early to break my fast. While I’ve attended Karwa Chauth parties, I find it’s most special when shared between husband and wife, ideally at home. My son Rudraansh actively participates, holding the thali, making him a part of the celebration. From the sargi and baya to the rituals and dressing up in red, it’s a truly beautiful tradition.” She also mentioned that a co-actor has gifted her a lovely red sari to wear for the occasion this year.
Recalling her first Karwa Chauth as a new bride, Rupali fondly remembered her father-in-law’s help in preparing her sargi, which included delicacies like ghee ki mathri and seviyan. “This is my second Karwa Chauth without my mother-in-law, but my sisters-in-law join me on a video call to share wishes. It’s a beautiful ritual that no one is forced into; we observe it by choice.”
What Rupali cherishes most is the pampering she receives from the important men in her life. “Ashwin is an amazing cook and prepares all my favorite dishes on Karwa Chauth. Both my husband and son, Rudraansh, dote on me. We also look forward to sighting the moon. Fasting for a spouse’s long life is a wonderful tradition, and I feel quite emotional about anything that connects us to our traditions and culture,” she concluded.
