Rockstar Games is reportedly developing enhanced versions of Red Dead Redemption 2 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and even the rumored Nintendo Switch 2. While the existence of these updates has been reconfirmed by a reliable leaker, NateTheHate2, the exact release timeline remains unknown.
According to NateTheHate2, who shared the information on X, these versions “exist,” though he couldn’t provide a release window. The prevailing theory is that Rockstar might aim to launch these new editions relatively soon, as their primary focus for the upcoming year will be Grand Theft Auto VI.

Back in June, NateTheHate2 had previously suggested that Red Dead Redemption 2 would arrive on Switch 2 this year, alongside the current-gen console updates. Although the leaker accurately predicted a recent Nintendo Direct, Red Dead Redemption 2 did not make an appearance during the event. It’s worth noting that Rockstar did release the original Red Dead Redemption on Nintendo Switch in 2023. Additionally, there have been whispers about a potential remaster for Grand Theft Auto 4.
Red Dead Redemption 2 holds a significant place in gaming history as one of the top 10 best-selling games of all time. For a deeper dive into the game, GameSpot offers a comprehensive review.
