The highly anticipated Realme GT 8 and Realme GT 8 Pro are gearing up for their official debut in China next month. Ahead of the grand reveal, Realme has confirmed an exciting innovation for the GT 8 Pro: a unique swappable camera module. This groundbreaking design will allow users to customize their phone’s rear camera aesthetics to suit their personal style. Adding to the buzz, the standard Realme GT 8 has reportedly made an appearance on the popular benchmarking platform Geekbench, offering a sneak peek into its impressive technical specifications.
Realme GT 8 Pro: Innovative Design & Premium Specs
In a series of recent updates, Realme confirmed that the Realme GT 8 Pro will indeed feature a detachable rear camera module. This means you’ll be able to easily swap or reposition the camera unit. Early previews showcased three distinct camera module designs: a classic round shape, a modern square, and an eye-catching irregular, robotics-inspired form. This level of personalization is a fresh take on smartphone customization.
While full details on the camera sensors are still under wraps, the Realme GT 8 Pro is expected to boast a powerful triple-rear camera system, including a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. Beyond its camera, the GT 8 Pro is set to be a performance powerhouse, featuring the brand-new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, a dedicated R1 graphics chip, and a dual symmetrical speaker setup. Users can also look forward to a stunning BOE display, offering a sharp 2K resolution and a super-smooth 144Hz refresh rate.
Realme GT 8: Benchmarks Reveal Raw Power
Meanwhile, the core specifications of the standard Realme GT 8 have reportedly been unveiled through a Geekbench listing, identified with model number RMX6699. According to the database, the device will run on the latest Android 16 operating system and come equipped with a hefty 16GB of RAM. In performance tests, the phone achieved impressive scores of 2,825 points in single-core and 8,840 points in multi-core benchmarks.
The Geekbench listing further indicates that the Realme GT 8 will be powered by an octa-core chipset, codenamed “Sun.” This setup includes two high-performance CPU cores clocked at a blazing 4.32GHz, alongside six additional cores running at 3.53GHz. These figures strongly suggest the presence of the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset within the Realme GT 8.
Both the Realme GT 8 and GT 8 Pro are slated for an official launch in China next month. Although a precise release date remains unannounced, Francis Wong, Realme’s Head of Product Marketing, recently hinted that the Pro model’s India launch is also just around the corner, building anticipation among Indian consumers.
