Great news for job seekers! The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced a significant recruitment drive, offering 650 Assistant posts. The application window is open until March 8, 2026. Candidates are advised to apply well before the deadline. The selection process involves a preliminary examination scheduled for April 11, followed by a main examination on June 7, 2026. A Language Proficiency Test (LPT) will also be conducted for shortlisted candidates.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate. For SC/ST/PwBD candidates, a pass class is sufficient.
- Proficiency in word processing on a PC is a mandatory requirement.
- The age limit for applicants is between 20 to 28 years. Candidates born between February 2, 1998, and February 1, 2006, are eligible to apply.
Selection Process
The RBI Assistant recruitment process consists of three stages:
- Preliminary Examination: This exam will have 100 questions for 100 marks and will be conducted in 60 minutes.
- Main Examination: This exam will comprise 200 questions for 200 marks, with a duration of 135 minutes.
- Language Proficiency Test (LPT): Candidates shortlisted from the main examination will need to pass this test, which assesses proficiency in an official/local language of the state.
It’s important for candidates to qualify in each section of the objective tests separately, and also to clear the Preliminary Examination to be eligible for the Main Examination.
Examination Fee
The examination fee structure is as follows:
- SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen Category: ₹50/- plus 18% GST
- General/OBC/EWS Category: ₹450/- plus 18% GST
