Actor Rajat Bedi, currently enjoying a resurgence with his role in The Ba***ds of Bollywood, has addressed a recent controversy stemming from a “misleading” interview clip. Bedi claims that veteran actor Mukesh Khanna took his comments about filmmaker Rakesh Roshan and his move to Canada out of context to boost his own video views.

Bedi, widely recognized for his role as Raj Saxena in Koi Mil Gaya (2003), stated that an old interview from 2023 was edited and shared in a manner that misrepresented his career trajectory. He clarified that his casual conversation about moving to Canada was twisted into clickbait, specifically implying a professional fallout with Rakesh Roshan, which he vehemently denies.
“In an interview, I told him that I moved to Canada after Koi Mil Gaya’s release. But he used my statement to generate views. He stated that I moved to Canada after being sidelined in the promotions of Koi Mil Gaya. That was very wrong. How can you do it just to get hits and views on your video?” Bedi questioned, emphasizing his continued respect for Roshan. He fondly recalled Roshan’s dedication to his craft, even performing scenes himself to help actors better understand their characters.
Bedi further explained that his decision to move to Canada was driven by financial and personal stability, not by any professional setbacks or industry politics. “I had films, fame, but no stability. It became difficult to sustain myself and my family, so I had to make a choice,” he said.
After a hiatus spent pursuing real estate in Vancouver, Bedi has returned to acting, aiming to rebuild his career on his own terms. The positive reception to The Ba***ds of Bollywood has energized him, and he is happy to be back in the spotlight.
