Exciting news for cinema enthusiasts! Acclaimed actor R Madhavan has finally unveiled his compelling first look as the legendary Indian inventor and engineer GD Naidu in the upcoming biopic titled G.D.N. This revelation comes after previous reports confirmed Madhavan’s casting in the pivotal role.
The recently released motion poster offers a glimpse into Madhavan’s portrayal of Naidu. We see him embodying a short, bald, elderly scientist intently soldering metal at his workshop. GD Naidu, a self-taught engineering genius and industrial pioneer, was widely celebrated as the ‘Edison of India’ for his groundbreaking innovations.
Helmed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar, the film boasts an impressive cast alongside Madhavan, featuring notable actors such as Sathyaraj, Jayaram, Priyamani, Dushara Vijayan, Thambi Ramaiah, and Vinay Rai in significant roles. While earlier discussions hinted at Yogi Babu’s involvement, official confirmation from the filmmakers is still awaited.
Behind the scenes, the musical score for G.D.N is composed by Govind Vasantha, with cinematography handled by Aravind Kamalanathan. The production is a collaborative effort between Varghese Moolan and Vijay Moolan of Varghese Moolan Pictures, and R Madhavan and Sarita Madhavan under their banner, Tricolour Films.
This partnership is particularly noteworthy as the production houses previously collaborated on Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, another highly successful biopic. That film, starring and directed by Madhavan, chronicled the life of ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan and went on to win the National Award for Best Feature Film in 2022, setting high expectations for G.D.N.
