The arrival of the Poco X8 series, which is expected to include both the Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max, appears to be very close. Without any official announcement yet, the Poco X8 Pro has made an appearance on South Korea’s RRA certification database, strongly indicating its imminent global debut. Leaks suggest the Poco X8 Pro will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset, feature a dual-camera setup, boast a 6.5-inch display, and support rapid 100W fast charging. It’s also rumored to launch as a rebadged version of the Redmi Turbo 5.
Poco X8 Pro RRA Certification Details
An unreleased Poco smartphone, identified by the model number 2511FPC34G, has secured approval from South Korea’s RRA certification body, as first noted by XpertPick. This identical model number had previously surfaced on Thailand’s NBTC certification database, where it was already linked to the Poco X8 Pro.
The certification listing indicates Xiaomi Communications as the manufacturer, along with a SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) value of 0.863/1.6 W/kg. While the RRA certification doesn’t dive into the device’s specific hardware specifications, its appearance strongly suggests that the handset’s official launch is drawing near.
The Poco X8 Pro is widely expected to launch in March, potentially alongside the Poco X8 Pro Max. There’s even speculation about a special ‘Iron Man Edition’ of the Poco X8 Pro.
The Poco X8 Pro recently showed up on Xiaomi’s official Belgian website, listing a price of EUR 399 (approximately Rs. 43,000) for the base model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Other configurations, including 8GB+512GB and 12GB+512GB RAM and storage, were priced at EUR 449 (around Rs. 48,000) and EUR 479 (roughly Rs. 51,000) respectively. Color options are expected to include black, white, and green.
It’s believed that the Poco X8 Pro will be a global iteration of the Redmi Turbo 5, a device exclusively launched in China last month. The Redmi Turbo 5 features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display and a dual rear camera system, comprising a 50-megapixel primary sensor and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens. For selfies and video calls, it’s equipped with a 20-megapixel front-facing camera.
Internally, the Redmi Turbo 5 is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra SoC, coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. It boasts impressive durability with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance. Powering the device is a substantial 7,560mAh battery, supporting 100W wired fast charging and 27W wired reverse charging capabilities.
