After a whirlwind first day of the Black Ops 7 beta, developer Treyarch is already on the ball, directly responding to player feedback with promises of significant changes. Key updates will focus on fine-tuning the game’s Time-To-Kill (TTK), making those controversial automatic doors less bothersome, and boosting experience gains to help players maximize their beta playtime.
One of the most critical discussions has centered around the Time-To-Kill (TTK). While the beta launched with a TTK similar to its predecessor, Black Ops 6, Treyarch acknowledges that many players find it a bit too fast. Expect a weapon balance update soon, designed to adjust the TTK and ensure every weapon feels fair and impactful in its designated role within the game.

The divisive new automatic doors have also drawn significant player ire. While only five of the sixteen launch maps feature these doors (with no manual doors present), Treyarch understands the frustration and is already working on solutions.
Future beta updates will address these doors directly. Certain automatic doors will now start matches in an open state, their closing timers will be extended, and their activation range will be increased. Players will also retain the ability to shoot them open from a distance. Looking further ahead, Treyarch is considering a broader reduction in automatic doors across all maps, carefully weighing each change to avoid unintended sightline issues.
Recognizing players’ desire to explore as much content as possible, Treyarch is significantly boosting weapon experience gains in an upcoming beta patch. This update will also enhance Overclock for various loadout items and scorestreaks, alongside crucial adjustments to spawn points across different maps and modes, and a host of bug fixes.
