The popular co-op horror game, Phasmophobia, is about to get even scarier with the introduction of its newest map: Neil’s Diner. Revealed during a TwitchCon panel celebrating the game’s recent fifth anniversary, this abandoned restaurant location will be available for players to explore starting November 11.
Kinetic Games describes Neil’s Diner as a “run-down, retro restaurant” that has long been deserted by both staff and customers. Though it’s one of the smaller maps in Phasmophobia, it’s packed with authentic details and restless spirits eager for new interactions. Daniel Knight, the lead developer, shared in a press release that a diner setting always felt like a perfect fit for the game. He noted, “Nell’s was born, and it’s been such a fun challenge bringing it to life.” Knight also highlighted that Neil’s Diner, along with previous farmhouse reworks from this year, exemplifies the future direction for all Phasmophobia maps: unique environments meticulously designed to tell a deeper story beyond just hunting the immediate ghost.
Looking ahead, Phasmophobia is set to release its version 1.0 next year. This milestone will coincide with an ambitious overhaul, famously dubbed “Horror 2.0,” which the studio promises will make the game feel entirely new. The game’s success is even extending beyond the screen, with Blumhouse, the renowned production company behind hits like Five Nights at Freddy’s, Paranormal Activity, The Purge, and Insidious, currently adapting Phasmophobia for the big screen.
