Paris Fashion Week consistently elevates fashion ideas and trends to extraordinary heights. This season, numerous designers showcased collections that transcended ordinary concepts, venturing into styles that were truly out of this world, yet still remarkably familiar.

Runways were filled with fantastical moments, from unsettling face braces that distorted smiles at Maison Margiela to towering conical burlap hats at Comme des Garçons. The Matières Fécales presentation plunged into a darker aesthetic with demonic makeup, while Thom Browne’s collection featured alien masks paired with exquisite tailoring, all set to the whimsical tune of The Carpenters’ “Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft.” The week culminated with Chanel’s grand finale, where the runway transformed into a celestial path, adorned with glowing replicas of planets and the sun.

Despite the fantastical elements, the collections were far from mere science fiction. Major labels like Dior, Loewe, and Chanel presented highly wearable pieces that garnered excited chatter from the audience. This focus on wearability extended to street style, where practical trench coats, rich shades of brown, and innovative uses of sashes and ruffles stood out as key trends.
