The OnePlus Nord 5 made its debut in India in July, boasting a vibrant 6.83-inch AMOLED display and powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip. Now, it appears OnePlus is actively preparing to launch its successor, the OnePlus Nord 6. OnePlus Nord 6: India Launch on the Horizon
Tech tipster Paras Guglani (Passionategeekz.com) recently discovered an unannounced OnePlus smartphone within the IMEI database, identified by the model number CPH2807. Given that the previous OnePlus Nord 5 carried the model number CPH2707, this new listing strongly suggests it is indeed the forthcoming OnePlus Nord 6.
Following OnePlus’ established naming conventions, the OnePlus Ace 6 is anticipated to be exclusive to the Chinese market. Conversely, the OnePlus Nord 6 is expected to launch in India, likely featuring similar hardware to the Ace 6. However, the current IMEI listing does not reveal any further specific details or features of this upcoming device.
While there’s still no official word from OnePlus regarding the Ace 6, early rumors suggest it will bring notable improvements in display quality, battery life, and overall performance. It is rumored to feature a stunning 165Hz refresh rate display with a 1.5K resolution. The device is also expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, potentially paired with up to 16GB of RAM and a generous 1TB of internal storage.
Both the OnePlus Nord 6 and OnePlus Ace 6 are rumored to pack a massive 7,800mAh battery, complemented by blazing-fast 120W wired charging support. These premium handsets might also incorporate an ultrasonic fingerprint reader and sport a distinctive squircle-shaped rear camera module.
For context, the OnePlus Nord 5 was launched in India in July at a starting price of Rs. 31,999 for the base model, which included 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Its 6.83-inch AMOLED screen offered up to a 144Hz refresh rate, and it was powered by a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip, coupled with up to 12GB of RAM. The phone also featured an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance.
In terms of optics, the OnePlus Nord 5 came equipped with a 50-megapixel primary camera featuring a Sony LYT-700 sensor, alongside an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. For selfies, it boasted a 50-megapixel front camera. Powering the device was a 6,800mAh battery with support for up to 80W SuperVOOC charging.
