The highly anticipated OnePlus 15 is set for an upcoming launch in China, though an official release date for this flagship smartphone is still under wraps. We’ve gathered insights from various leaks and official teasers, indicating that the OnePlus 15 will boast a cutting-edge BOE display and be powered by Qualcomm’s formidable Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. The device is also confirmed to feature an impressive 165Hz display and will be available in a striking “Sand Dune” color. For the Chinese market, it will run on Android 16-based ColorOS 16. While many specifications are still a mystery, recent leaks have shed light on the smartphone’s battery capacity and advanced charging capabilities.

Expected Battery and Charging Specifications for OnePlus 15

According to a recent Weibo post from the well-known tipster Digital Chat Station, the upcoming OnePlus 15 is expected to feature a dual-cell battery setup. This translates to a rated capacity of 7,150mAh, with a typical capacity potentially reaching 7,300mAh, offering robust power for extended use. The leak also provided initial details on two other OnePlus devices.

Adding to these revelations, tipster Bald Panda previously hinted at a 7,300mAh battery for the OnePlus 15. This source further suggested that the phone would support an impressive 120W wired fast charging, complemented by 50W wireless fast charging. Design-wise, the smartphone is rumored to come in elegant black, vibrant purple, and sleek titanium color options. It is also expected to feature a slim 8.1mm profile and weigh approximately 211g to 215g.

Further details from Digital Chat Station’s Weibo post indicate that the OnePlus 15 will indeed feature 100W wired fast charging. It is also set to include a high-quality 1.5K+ flat display from BOE, boasting an ultra-smooth 165Hz refresh rate. Interestingly, these impressive display and charging features are also anticipated for two other upcoming OnePlus devices.

The other two devices mentioned in the leaks are believed to be the OnePlus Ace 6 and a mysterious OnePlus Turbo model. The Ace 6, which might launch internationally as the OnePlus 15R, is rumored to pack a substantial 7,600mAh battery. The OnePlus Turbo model is expected to go even further, featuring an impressive 7,800mAh battery unit.

While OnePlus has not yet confirmed a debut date for its flagship OnePlus 15, the company is slated to reveal its new OxygenOS 16 software update on October 16. The OnePlus 15 is anticipated to launch initially in China, with plans for a broader release in other regions, including India, at a later date.
