The North Central Railway has released a notification for the recruitment of Apprentices, inviting applications for a total of 1763 positions. This is a great opportunity for eligible candidates to join the railway sector.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for these Apprentice positions, candidates must have successfully completed the SSC/Matriculation/10th class examination or its equivalent (under the 10+2 examination system) with at least 50% marks in aggregate. Additionally, candidates must possess an ITI qualification in the relevant trade, certified by NCVT/SCVT and recognized by the Government of India.
The age requirement for applicants is between 15 and 24 years as of September 16, 2025. Relaxation in age may be applicable for reserved categories as per government rules.
Selection Process
The selection of candidates will be based on a merit list. This list will be prepared by calculating the average marks obtained in both the Matriculation (with a minimum of 50% aggregate) and the ITI examinations, giving equal weightage to both qualifications.
The final merit list will be organized unit-wise, trade-wise, and community-wise, corresponding to the number of available vacancies. Candidates will be listed in descending order of their marks.
Application Fee
The application fee for general and OBC candidates is ₹100/-. However, candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD/Transgender/Female categories are exempted from paying any application fee.
The fee can be paid online using methods such as Debit Card, Credit Card, or Internet Banking. Any transaction charges associated with the online payment will be borne by the applicants.
