Young talent Nitanshi Goel has been making waves with her performance in the recently released film ‘Laapataa Ladies’. She recently clinched the Best Debut Actress Award at the Filmfare awards held in Ahmedabad, a moment that almost turned into a mishap. As she ascended the stage, Nitanshi stumbled, but was swiftly and gracefully caught by none other than Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who was hosting the event.
Recalling the incident, Nitanshi shared, “Going up to the stage to receive an award for such a special performance was important, but experiencing Shah Rukh Khan sir’s chivalry firsthand was a completely different feeling. Receiving awards from idols like Shah Rukh sir, Akshay sir, and Karan sir is incredibly special and will always hold a cherished place in my heart.”
With a hint of humor, she added, “It’s a moment girls dream about all over the world – being held by Shah Rukh sir and saved from a fall! He even helped with my trail as I walked. I truly don’t have words to describe it.”
The internet quickly drew parallels between Nitanshi’s near-fall and Hollywood actress Jennifer Lawrence’s famous stumble at the 2013 Oscars. A Reddit user even commented, “Almost a Jennifer Lawrence fall! Some might say it’s good luck for your career.”
Nitanshi acknowledged the comparisons, saying, “I’ve read the comments, and the internet is indeed a fascinating place. As actors, we’re used to wearing gowns with long trails, and I think I now understand Jennifer’s ‘kick walk’ advice a bit better!” This was in reference to Jennifer Lawrence explaining in an interview how she forgot her stylist’s instructions to ‘kick walk’ to avoid tripping, and instead found herself ‘cake walking’.
