Netflix is set to delight anime enthusiasts with the confirmation of ‘Dorohedoro’ Season 2, scheduled for release in Spring 2026. This announcement comes after a significant six-year wait since the first season captivated audiences in 2020. Initially rumored to premiere in 2025, the production timeline was adjusted, but the extended wait seems to have been met with patience and anticipation from fans.
Celebrating the five-year anniversary of the first season’s release, the official ‘Dorohedoro’ social media accounts shared a second teaser visual, confirming the sequel will be available globally. This suggests a simultaneous worldwide release, bypassing traditional television broadcasts in favor of a streaming-first approach. The series is officially being produced as a ‘streaming series’, reinforcing its digital-first strategy.
‘Dorohedoro,’ based on the manga by Q Hayashida, first aired in Japan in 2000 and concluded its manga run in 2018. Directed by Yuichiro Hayashi, the anime follows Caiman, a lizard-headed amnesiac, and his friend Nikaido, as they navigate the gritty city of Hole, hunting down sorcerers to uncover Caiman’s past.
