Nepal Airlines, the national carrier of Nepal, made an exciting announcement on Sunday, September 21, 2025: direct flights from Kathmandu, the capital city, to Guangzhou, China, are officially launching. Travelers can anticipate the first flight to take off on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
Manoj Kumar Shah, spokesperson for Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), confirmed that all necessary preparations are complete for this new Kathmandu-Guangzhou-Kathmandu service, which marks a significant addition to their routes.
The airline plans to operate three weekly flights on this popular route. Following the inaugural flight on September 25, another service is scheduled for September 28. Thereafter, direct flights to Guangzhou will be available every Sunday, Tuesday, and Saturday, offering convenient options for passengers.
For those planning their journey, Nepal Airlines has set the one-way fare from Kathmandu to Guangzhou at NRs 30,000, with a return ticket priced at NRs 50,000.
While Himalaya Airlines already provides regular flights on this route from Nepal, and China Southern maintains operations on the Guangzhou-Kathmandu sector, the addition of Nepal Airlines’ direct services enhances connectivity and offers more choice for international travelers.
This expansion is a major step for Nepal’s national carrier, bringing its total count of regular flight destinations to 11, spread across nine different countries.
