Exciting news has just electrified the My Hero Academia fandom! During the KYOMAF 2025 anime stage event, it was officially announced that the much-awaited second season of the beloved spin-off, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, will begin its broadcast in January 2026.
To mark this monumental announcement, a brand-new character visual was shared, prominently featuring the fan-favorite trio: The Crawler, Pop☆Step, and Knuckleduster, hinting at their return to action and the challenges they’ll face.
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes offers a unique, ground-level perspective on a world where superhuman powers, known as Quirks, are commonplace. The manga, masterfully written by Hideyuki Furuhashi and beautifully illustrated by Betten Court, first captivated readers when it debuted in Jump GIGA in August 2016. It later transitioned to the Shonen Jump+ online imprint and concluded its compelling narrative in May 2022, spanning 15 collected volumes.
The anime adaptation boasts an impressive creative team. Kenichi Suzuki, renowned for his work as chief director on JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, leads the charge as director at bones film. Yosuke Kuroda, who also handles series composition for the main My Hero Academia series, is contributing to Vigilantes, while character designs are crafted by Takahiko Yoshida, known for Cells at Work!. The dynamic musical score is a collaborative effort by Yuki Hayashi, Shogo Yamashira, and Yuki Furuhashi.
For those eager to catch up or relive the initial adventures, the first season of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is readily available for streaming. The story introduces us to Koichi Haimawari, an unassuming college student who, despite his heroic aspirations, has reluctantly put them aside. In a society where the majority possesses Quirks, only a select few are chosen to become official heroes. Koichi’s life takes an unexpected and thrilling turn when he and Pop☆Step are rescued by the enigmatic vigilante, Knuckleduster, ultimately recruiting them into the shadowy world of vigilantes, where they fight for justice outside the established system.
