Tragedy struck a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc, Michigan, on Sunday morning, resulting in multiple injuries following a shooting incident and a fire at the location.
Police reported that the shooter is now “down” and poses no further danger to the public. However, the church building itself was engulfed in flames.
The Grand Blanc Township Police Department confirmed the active shooter situation but did not immediately release details on the number of injured individuals or the motive behind the attack. Federal agencies, including the FBI and ATF, were dispatched to the scene.
US Attorney General Pam Bondi expressed her distress over the event, stating, “Such violence at a place of worship is heartbreaking and chilling.” She urged prayers for the victims.
