Konami has officially announced the launch date for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater’s highly anticipated multiplayer Fox Hunt mode. Get ready, because it’s arriving in late October, just over a month from now! The original Metal Gear Online features were celebrated for their unique blend of stealth and shooter mechanics, offering a twist unmatched by many online games. Fans have eagerly awaited news on the multiplayer aspect of this MGS 3 remake, and now we have it.
The single-player campaign of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has already been lauded as a “new standard for remakes,” earning high praise for its modern updates, quality-of-life improvements, and faithful homage to Hideo Kojima’s iconic stealth masterpiece. Now, the missing piece of the puzzle, Fox Hunt multiplayer, has been revealed at Tokyo Game Show 2025. Konami has detailed two distinct modes, one of which brings back a beloved MGS 3 collectible: the Kerotan frogs.

The first mode is named ‘Survival Capture.’ In this mode, players will embark on a mission to seek out and capture elusive Kerotan frogs. As the match progresses, the hunt intensifies, and competition rises to find the remaining hiding spots. Savvy players might even lay cunning traps for unsuspecting opponents.
The second option, ‘Survival Intrude,’ offers a more traditional Metal Gear Online experience, though with a modern twist. Its ever-shrinking arena seems to draw inspiration from popular battle royale games. As Konami describes, “Players must hold their ground inside a designated zone to progress through each phase. As the match advances, the number of zones shrinks, making stealth and positioning even more critical.”
To aid in tactical gameplay, each player will have access to an AT-Camo suit, allowing them to dynamically change their camouflage patterns to seamlessly blend into various environments. To counter this, players can also utilize ‘Naked Sense,’ a unique ability that helps detect both enemy presence and any hidden items nearby.
