The highly anticipated anime adaptation of ‘Kusunoki’s Garden of Gods’ has just unveiled three charming new characters! Fans can now get acquainted with Seri, Torika, and Utsugi through a recently released character trailer. These delightful additions are ‘ten,’ a mystical type of marten deeply rooted in Japanese folklore. In the series, they act as loyal attendants to the powerful mountain god, Yamagami, and share an adorable passion for traditional Japanese sweets.
Lending their voices to these endearing new roles are a talented group of voice actors. Shinnosuke Tokudome, known for his work as Wada in ‘Let’s Go Karaoke!’, will voice Seri. Minako Kotobuki, who portrays Khun Ran in ‘Tower of God,’ is cast as Torika. Finally, Makoto Koichi, recognized as Lloyd in ‘I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince,’ will bring Utsugi to life.
The ‘Kusunoki’s Garden of Gods’ narrative first captivated readers when it debuted on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in 2021. Its popularity quickly led to its acquisition by ASCII Media Works for full publication, alongside a compelling manga adaptation. To date, Japan has seen the release of ten volumes of the light novel and four volumes of the manga. For international fans, Yen Press is bringing the series to English-speaking audiences, with the third volume slated for release on November 11th. Excitingly, further details about the anime’s production are expected to be unveiled at Animate Girls Festival 2025 on November 9th.
Yen Press offers a glimpse into the series’ rich world: ‘With the arrival of the spirited kirin and the dignified ho’o, the Kusunoki household finds itself more vibrant and mystical than ever before. The divine garden transforms into spring at the powerful whim of the Yamagami, allowing Minato and its other inhabitants to enjoy tranquil days admiring cherry blossoms and indulging in seasonal delights. As new entities find their way into the garden, Minato explores other realms of the kami, underscoring that spring is truly a season of fresh starts. Yet, amidst this serenity, the onmyoji tirelessly work to combat the surge of evil spirits that unfailingly emerge during this time of renewal.’
