Ever feel the competitive itch in a shooter? Marvel Rivals is no exception, drawing players into its ranked mode with unique rewards and challenging gameplay. If you’ve been honing your skills with your favorite Marvel Rivals characters, now’s the perfect time to leap into the game’s ultimate challenge.
Here, we’ll break down all the Marvel Rivals ranks, explain how the competitive mode works, and reveal the exciting cosmetic rewards you can earn by climbing the ladder.
All Marvel Rivals Ranks in Order
The journey through Marvel Rivals’ competitive ladder features nine distinct ranks. Each rank, up to Celestial, is further divided into three tiers (III-I). You’ll need to accumulate 100 ranked points to advance through each tier, totaling 300 points to move up a full rank. Once you reach Celestial, your focus shifts to simply earning points.
The nine Marvel Rivals ranks are:
- Bronze (Tier III-I)
- Silver (Tier III-I)
- Gold (Tier III-I)
- Platinum (Tier III-I)
- Diamond (Tier III-I)
- Grandmaster (Tier III-I)
- Celestial (Tier III-I)
- Eternity
- One Above All
The prestigious ‘One Above All’ rank is reserved for the Top 500 players at the season’s end, a system familiar to many competitive shooter veterans.
Marvel Rivals Rank Distribution
Understanding the rank distribution helps you gauge your performance against the broader player base. Keep in mind that these percentages can shift throughout the season as more players engage with competitive mode.
The Marvel Rivals rank distribution for October 2025 is:
- Bronze: 24.9%
- Silver: 10.1%
- Gold: 12.5%
- Platinum: 13.6%
- Diamond: 15.4%
- Grandmaster: 15.2%
- Celestial: 6.6%
- Eternity and One Above All: 1.7%
Towards the end of Season 1.5, the developers released an official distribution chart that excluded players with fewer than five competitive matches. This adjustment provided a more accurate representation of the ranking curve, as it removed the initial concentration of players in Bronze who had only briefly tried ranked play. The official data showed a smoother, more realistic distribution than early statistics might suggest.
Marvel Rivals Competitive Mode Explained
Marvel Rivals’ competitive mode builds upon the core Quickplay experience by introducing a set of additional rules and mechanics. To unlock competitive play, you must first reach Level 10.
One beneficial system for all players, regardless of rank, is the Chrono Shield. If you experience a losing streak, you’re likely to receive a Chrono Shield, which prevents an immediate demotion. This shield needs to recharge after use, and higher ranks require more losses before it becomes available again, offering a valuable safety net when you’re fluctuating within your current tier.
For high-tier players, specific rules come into effect. Once you reach Celestial, your rank points will begin to decay if you don’t queue for competitive matches within a certain timeframe. Furthermore, upon reaching Diamond III, your team gains the ability to ban two heroes per game. This strategic addition helps counter overwhelmingly powerful meta picks and encourages a wider hero pool among players.
There are also restrictions on who you can queue with based on rank differences. Players in Gold and below have the freedom to team up with any friends. However, from Gold I up to Celestial, players must be within a three-division rank range of each other. For those at Eternity or One Above All, teaming up is limited to Celestial II players within 200 points, or queuing solo or as a duo only.
