Are you struggling to find enough Rosaries in Hollow Knight: Silksong? The early game can be tough, with vital upgrades locked behind merchant prices. These precious red beads, found in strings across Pharloom, are crucial for progress, and losing them upon death adds to the challenge. Thankfully, we’ve uncovered several fantastic farming spots, both early and late-game, where you can quickly gather hundreds of Rosaries in minutes, making your journey much smoother!
These vital red Rosary beads are scattered across the expansive world of Pharloom, often found in ‘rosary strings’ dropped by defeated foes. Be warned, though: losing your Rosaries upon death can be a real setback, making every bead that much more valuable in this challenging Metroidvania adventure. Fortunately, we’ve found some excellent early-game Rosary farming spots to help you earn hundreds of these precious items in less than ten minutes.
Early-Game Rosary Hotspots in Silksong
Here are the best Silksong early game Rosary farm locations:
- Bone Bottom
- Deep Docks
- Greymoor
Bone Bottom: Your First Rosary Haul
Before you challenge the intimidating Bell Beast, one of the many formidable adversaries in Silksong, you’ll become well-acquainted with the game’s initial area, Moss Grotto. Locate the marked bench on our map image as you navigate through The Marrow.
As you traverse this lush, mossy region, you’ll eventually arrive at the first settlement in Bone Bottom. Here, you’ll encounter a new array of aggressive enemies who generously drop Rosaries.
Starting from the bench, proceed left and eliminate the two enemies to collect ten Rosaries. Continue further left, dropping past the platforms to the ground below. To your left, another Rosary-carrying bug awaits. After dispatching this foe, head right to find two more enemies, bringing your total Rosaries to a neat 25.
Once you’ve collected your spoils, simply return to the bench to reset the area and repeat the cycle. This method is fantastic for accumulating quick cash, and it comes at the perfect time, as several NPCs in Bone Marrow are eager to trade those Rosaries for powerful upgrades.
Deep Docks: High-Value Rosary Runs
After encountering the Forge Daughter merchant, who offers several crucial items costing over 100 Rosaries each, you’ll be remarkably close to one of the best early-game Rosary farming locations in Silksong. We strongly advise acquiring the Magnetic Brooch crest to streamline your Rosary collection efforts.
The nearest bench in this area is conveniently located by the elevators, which we’ll use as our starting point. Descend using the elevator to the left of your resting spot, then turn left again until you enter a vertical chamber teeming with enemies. Disregard the platforms guarded by lava-spewing bugs; instead, leap to the left side of the screen until you land on a platform. Here, you’ll find your first target: a floating, helmeted insect that drops Rosaries.
Next, focus on the insect donning a red helmet. Fortunately, this foe often faces away from you, making for an easy kill that adds seven more Rosaries to your stash. Continue downwards until you spot the final floating bug near a door; defeat it and proceed into the room on the left.
Once inside, advance left until you spot the first enemy. This is an ideal moment to unleash your Silkspear, if charged, as it can pierce through the initial foe to strike the second one positioned directly behind it. Attacking the first enemy and moving too far into the room will provoke the second, so for an easier time, consider tackling them individually. With both dispatched, a final enemy awaits near the left wall. Defeat it, and you should have collected 45 Rosaries from this skirmish.
Now, for the crucial trick: open the pause menu and select the ‘Quit To Menu’ option. As detailed in many save guides, restarting your game this way will transport you back to your last save point, with all your hard-earned Rosaries and materials perfectly intact. This strategy dramatically cuts down on travel time, saving you valuable minutes from this farming loop.
Greymoor: The Ultimate Early-Game Rosary Grind
The next spot on our list is arguably the best early-game Rosary farm you’ll discover in Silksong. It’s conveniently located just outside Halfway Home in Greymoor. Your simple task: dash right out the door, enter the next zone, swiftly defeat the trio of patrolling pilgrims, and then sprint back to the bench.
While 29 Rosaries per run might not sound like much, this method quickly accumulates wealth, as each rotation takes a mere 20-25 seconds. With efficient execution, you can churn out nearly 5,000 Rosaries per hour!
For consistent 20-second runs in the early game, we recommend two key enhancements: the Silk Storm ability, obtainable from Craw Lake in eastern Greymoor, and the Barbed Bracelet. While acquiring this charm involves venturing into Sinner’s Road—a journey we’d only suggest for the most determined players at this stage—the farm is so naturally quick that you can easily afford to forgo a few seconds of peak efficiency.
Later in Act 2, you’ll be able to refine this route even further with the Thief’s Mark tool (more on how to get that below), as well as the Cogwheel/Pollip Pouch combination. Simply enter the zone, deploy one wheel, let it clear the enemies, and then collect your rewards. You’ll always recover more shards than you spend replacing the Cogwheel, making this method incredibly efficient and safe.
Act 2 Rosary Riches: Mid-Game Efficiency
Here are the best Silksong Act 2 Rosary farm locations:
- Choral Chambers
Choral Chambers: Orchestrating Your Fortune
After traversing the Underworks at the beginning of Act 2, you’ll find yourself in the magnificent Choral Chambers. Unlike the weary laborers of The Citadel’s industrial complex, the pilgrims and city sentinels populating Pharloom’s capital are quite affluent.
Upon reaching Songclave, you’re not only granted a welcome resting spot but also access to an exceptionally straightforward farming route. Ascend into the chamber that leads towards Cog Core. Along this path, you will encounter three Grand Reeds.
These instrument bow-wielding enemies are formidable opponents, capable of a single swing, a charged double swing, a Thread Storm-like ability, and an aerial downward slam. However, once you get into the rhythm of combat, they become relatively simple to dispatch. You can land a Thread Storm and a quick swing, or up to four standard swings, before they can initiate their first attack. If they scuttle away, a dash strike followed by a standard strike can effectively interrupt their movements.
Each Grand Reed yields 32 Rosaries along with a scattering of shards. Occasionally, a Clawmaiden will appear in the area, offering a few extra Rosaries for the taking. Once all three Grand Reeds are defeated, save and quit back to the Songclave bench to minimize your run time.
A complete run during your initial visit should take less than two minutes, potentially generating approximately 4,000 to 4,500 Rosaries per hour. If you’ve obtained the Barbed Bracelet from Sinner’s Road, you can significantly accelerate your farming speed thanks to its bonus damage. The Thief’s Mark further enhances your Rosaries-per-hour rate, granting 55 Rosaries per kill. As soon as the Clawline ability is available, sticking to the Reeds becomes considerably easier.
We highly recommend dedicating time to building up your Rosary balance at this point, as farming in Act 3 becomes substantially more challenging. After clearing out the vendor inventories, stock up on Rosary necklaces from Bellhart, and purchase as many Shard Bundles as you can before venturing into the final act.
Acquiring the Thief’s Mark: Boost Your Earnings
The Thief’s Mark is one of the most invaluable tools for farming runs in Silksong, as it allows you to earn more Rosaries per enemy kill. The only caveat is that you’ll drop some Rosaries if you take damage, but with careful play on our recommended farming routes, this shouldn’t be an issue.
To obtain the Thief’s Mark tool, you’ll need to accumulate 350 Rosaries and have unlocked the double jump ability. Once these two prerequisites are met, simply head to the location we’ve highlighted on the map. Grindle, the merchant who sells it, can be found in Blasted Steps.
That’s everything you need to know to farm as many Rosaries as your pockets can hold in Hollow Knight: Silksong. Get ready to power up and explore Pharloom with confidence!
