Mastering Digivolution: A Comprehensive Guide to Evolution Lines in Digimon Story Time Stranger

October 3, 2025
in Gaming
Reading Time: 10 min

Ever wondered how to unlock all the incredible Digimon evolutions in Digimon Story Time Stranger? While those baby Digimon are undeniably cute, they’re no match for the powerful “Titans.” Just like in many monster-collecting games, your digital companions possess a hidden power: digivolution! With enough battle experience, that adorable, squishy creature can transform into a formidable cyborg dinosaur complete with wings and rocket launchers – and we’re here to show you exactly how.

Digivolving your Digimon is the quickest route to turning them into the ultimate digital champions they were always meant to be. But beware: it’s surprisingly easy to take a wrong turn down an evolution path and find yourself partnered with something less than heroic, like a blob of sentient goo or a mutant poop. Don’t worry, our comprehensive guide to every digivolution in Digimon Story Time Stranger provides a clear, step-by-step process for evolving, crucial tips for rapid advancement, and even explains the advantages of de-digivolution.

Quick Navigation:

How to Evolve Your Digimon in Story Time Stranger

To initiate the evolution process for your Digimon, simply open your Digivice, then go to the ‘Digimon’ menu and select ‘Digivolution’. This will bring up a clear overview of all Digimon currently in your party and storage box.

Any Digimon prepared for evolution will be prominently marked with a green checkmark. Choose the Digimon you wish to evolve, and then select any available evolution portrait, also indicated by a green checkmark, on the right side of the evolution tree. You’ll also receive convenient notifications on the Digiline whenever a Digimon, whether in your active party or storage, becomes eligible to evolve. Remember to regularly check on Digimon you’ve sent to the DigiFarm, as they won’t appear in the main ‘Digivolution’ menu overview.

Tips to Speed Up Your Digimon’s Evolution

Rapid digivolution is a cornerstone of success in Digimon Story Time Stranger’s turn-based battles. Evolving your digital monsters quickly can provide a significant advantage. If you constantly find yourself narrowly winning fights, it’s a good sign your Digimon might be a stage or two behind the opponents you’re facing.

Here are the key methods to accelerate your Digimon’s evolution:

  • DigiFarm
  • Augment Chips
  • Enhancements

DigiFarm

The DigiFarm is your secret weapon for quickly meeting the stat prerequisites for early evolutions. Every Digimon assigned to the farm gains experience just like those in your storage box. What’s more, you can deploy various training sets to further supercharge their stats. Access the DigiFarm by speaking with Mirei Mikagura in the In-Between Theater.

Augment Chips

While most enhancement items offer temporary battle buffs, augment chips provide a lasting increase to your Digimon’s cumulative stats. You can earn these valuable chips through battle rewards or by breaking destructible environmental objects. Since many of the strongest evolutions demand a high value in a specific stat, augment chips are hands-down the quickest and simplest way to reach those crucial thresholds.

Enhancements

Unused Digimon sitting in your storage box can be strategically “sacrificed” to power up your active team. Head to the ‘Digimon’ menu, select ‘Load Enhancements’, choose the Digimon you want to boost, and then select the Digimon you’re willing to convert into experience. Your main Digimon will inherit a portion of the sacrificed Digimon’s talent and cumulative stats. Be aware: loading enhancements is irreversible, so once a Digimon is used this way, it’s gone for good.

Understanding De-Digivolution

To reverse an evolution, simply open the ‘Digivolution’ menu, select your chosen Digimon, and then navigate to any Digimon highlighted with a green checkmark on the left side of the evolution tree.

While our comprehensive evolution list aims to prevent unwanted transformations, de-digivolution offers advantages beyond mere aesthetic preference.

For instance, you might choose to de-digivolve to access an alternative branch within an In-Training Digimon’s evolution tree. Remember that you must have previously encountered the Digimon you wish to revert to, and your current Digimon’s personality must align with its base personality.

De-digivolution will reset your Digimon back to level one. However, it’s crucial to understand that this action does not affect its talent, bond, or cumulative stat values. In fact, this mechanic allows you to make your Digimon even more powerful in the long run by repeatedly evolving and de-evolving, gaining stat boosts each cycle.

With these strategies, you’re now a true digivolution master in Digimon Story Time Stranger! If you’re craving more monster-taming adventures, be sure to explore our recommendations for other great games similar to Pokémon.
