How to complete the Arc Raiders A First Foothold quest
The ‘A First Foothold’ quest in Arc Raiders is a key early assignment from Apollo, particularly challenging due to its requirement to visit four specific points of interest across the vast Blue Gate map: Data Vault, Olive Grove, Ridgeline, and Trapper’s Glade. You don’t need to tackle this all in a single run; simply prioritize the nearest objective each time you deploy and return to Speranza when necessary. The Blue Gate is a stunningly expansive map, featuring rolling hills and breathtaking vistas, but it’s also teeming with enemy Arcs, so stay vigilant!

Data Vault
Your first objective lies north of the Data Vault, nestled high in The Blue Gate’s mountains. Here, you’ll discover a crumbling church. To reach the satellite dishes atop its roof, navigate to the back of the church and climb onto the broken wall. Exercise caution, as players from Pilgrim’s Peak might be keeping an eye on your movements. Once on the roof, simply interact with the satellite dishes to complete this part of the quest.

Olive Grove
Next, head to Olive Grove, a prime spot for gathering resources like olives, lemons, and apricots. More importantly for this quest, you’ll find a comms terminal that needs activating. This objective is located southwest of the Olive Grove marker, on the path leading to Highway Collapse. Simply approach the bright yellow machine on the worktop and power it on.

Ridgeline
Your journey continues east to the Ridgeline’s observation deck. While it’s a bit off the main path, our map guidance will lead you straight there. Your task here is straightforward: approach the front of the observation deck and stabilize it.

Trapper’s Glade
The final destination on your tour of The Blue Gate is Trapper’s Glade. This lush, secluded area offers ample cover. Climb onto the Raider structure within the glade and secure its roof plates to successfully complete ‘A First Foothold’.
