Marvel Television and Animation head Brad Winderbaum made a special appearance at New York Comic Con this past Saturday, dropping some major bombshells about the future of the MCU’s highly anticipated streaming series.
After reassuring fans that X-Men ‘97 is still on track for a Summer 2026 release on Disney+, Winderbaum moved on to showcase exclusive, never-before-seen footage from upcoming blockbusters like Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, Wonder Man, and VisionQuest. While only the action-packed Wonder Man trailer has been officially released for public viewing, we’ve got all the details right here!
The panel kicked off with an exciting sneak peek at Season 2 of Marvel Animation’s Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Fans were thrilled to catch a glimpse of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil making an animated cameo, alongside a mysterious sentient black goo that strongly hints at Venom’s arrival in the new season. Mark your calendars: this web-slinging adventure is set to hit Disney+ in Fall 2026!
Wonder Man Takes the Stage
Stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Sir Ben Kingsley personally unveiled the thrilling new Wonder Man trailer. The series introduces us to Simon Williams (played by Mateen), an aspiring actor vying for the lead role in a major cinematic reboot of the iconic superhero. This 8-episode series, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, is slated to premiere on Disney+ on January 27, 2026.
Daredevil: Born Again – Season 2 Tease!
Charlie Cox, reprising his role as Matt Murdock, and Kristen Ritter, as Jessica Jones, thrilled the Javits Center crowd by introducing the highly anticipated first trailer for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.
The sneak peek begins with Matt and Karen Page enjoying a seemingly idyllic domestic life, which is abruptly shattered when Matt’s heightened senses are overwhelmed by a powerful explosion. Soon after, unsettling missing person posters for Matt Murdock start appearing across the city. As Matt navigates the chaotic streets of New York, his former Defenders ally, Jessica Jones, emerges to lend her aid.
The footage further revealed Wilson Fisk, now reigning as the Mayor of New York City, fiercely pummeling a man in a boxing ring. Fans also caught a poignant, quick glimpse of Foggy Nelson, who tragically perished in Season 1, leaving many questions. Other notable moments included Wilson Bethel’s Bullseye casually enjoying a sundae at a diner, Fisk dining with his wife Vanessa, and exhilarating shots of Daredevil in action, sporting a confident grin as he subdues adversaries with his tasers.
VisionQuest: A Wondrous Reveal
Marvel Television and Animation head Brad Winderbaum, alongside star Paul Bettany, treated fans to an early look at VisionQuest. The series centers on White Vision as he grapples with integrating the memories of his predecessor, the late (Red) Vision, all while lacking any emotional connection to them. Winderbaum described VisionQuest as the powerful conclusion to a narrative trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued through Agatha All Along.
The captivating footage revealed White Vision, in his human disguise, entering a grand mansion. There, he encounters a retinue of servants who are, in fact, familiar AI characters from the MCU, now in human form. James D’Arcy returns to his role as Jarvis, joined by human manifestations of Friday (Jarvis’s successor) and Edith (the AI program from Tony Stark’s sunglasses in Spider-Man: Far From Home).

However, the most shocking revelations were held back for the grand finale of the VisionQuest footage: the return of Ultron! Not only is he back, but he appears in human form, once again portrayed by James Spader, complete with a prominent bushy beard. This is a significant development, especially since many recall (Red) Vision being responsible for Ultron’s defeat in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The footage concluded with Ultron introducing a son that this Vision was previously unaware of: Tommy Maximoff, played by Ruaridh Mollica. Fans of Marvel Comics will recognize Tommy as the speedster hero, Speed. VisionQuest is slated to premiere on Disney+ in 2026.
