Authorities in Manchester have confirmed they shot an individual suspected of being involved in a stabbing incident at a local synagogue.
Greater Manchester Police were alerted to the situation at the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Crumpsall just after 9:30 a.m. A concerned citizen reported witnessing a vehicle being driven towards pedestrians, followed by a man being stabbed.
Minutes after their arrival, police firearms officers discharged their weapons, striking a man who is believed to be the attacker.
Following the swift police action, Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, announced on BBC Radio that the immediate threat had been neutralized and the incident was under control.
