Parisian law enforcement has apprehended five more individuals believed to be involved in the recent high-profile theft at the Louvre Museum. The prosecutor’s office confirmed the arrests took place on Wednesday evening in the Paris metropolitan area.
Among those taken into custody is a primary suspect in the case. These latest arrests follow closely on the heels of two earlier arrests, where the individuals reportedly admitted to some level of involvement in the daring daylight robbery that occurred on October 19th.
The stolen items, valued at approximately €88 million (£76 million or $102 million), have yet to be recovered.
