Lola Young, the 24-year-old singer, caused concern among her fans when she fainted mid-performance at the All Things Go Music Festival in NYC on September 27. While singing her hit song ‘Conceited,’ Young suddenly collapsed on stage. Fortunately, medical personnel were quick to assist, carrying her offstage.
Following the incident, Young took to social media to reassure her followers. “Hi, for anyone who saw my set at All Things Go today, I am doing OK now,” she posted. “Thank you for all of your support, Lola xxx.” While she didn’t specify the reason for her collapse, her message conveyed that she is recovering well.
This event occurred shortly after she had to cancel her performance at Audacy’s We Can Survive concert on September 26, citing ‘a sensitive matter.’ Her manager, Nick Shymansky, had released a statement on Instagram, explaining the need for protective measures for her well-being and apologizing for any inconvenience.
Young has been open about her mental health journey, having been diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder at 17. She has previously spoken about the challenges of accepting this aspect of herself, emphasizing that it doesn’t define her and that she is capable of great things. She describes her experiences as having “crazy highs and immense lows.”
Schizoaffective disorder, as described by the Cleveland Clinic, is a mental health condition characterized by symptoms of both schizophrenia and a mood disorder, which can include depression or mania. Treatment typically involves therapy and medication.
