When it comes to the ultimate League of Legends Worlds anthem, every fan has their favorite. Many will immediately champion ‘Rise,’ others will passionately defend ‘Legends Never Die,’ and the veterans will undoubtedly stand firm on ‘Warriors.’ However, there’s a growing consensus that Worlds songs haven’t quite reached the epic heights of tracks like those from Imagine Dragons since 2022’s ‘Star Walkin’.’ While ‘Gods’ was a step in the right direction, efforts by artists like Linkin Park and Lil Nas X felt more like adaptations of their existing styles rather than truly dedicated, League-focused masterpieces. This year’s 2025 track faces immense pressure, not just to deliver a hit, but also to honor 15 years of incredible LoL esports history. And honestly? I’m a little hesitant about whether it will hit the mark.
For League of Legends Worlds 2025, Riot has officially announced that Chinese pop sensation G.E.M, affectionately known as ‘China’s Taylor Swift,’ will be performing this year’s highly anticipated anthem. Her signature style features deeply personal, autobiographical lyrics set against a diverse musical backdrop spanning electro-dance to light rock. Fans of the 2016 film ‘Passengers’ might recall her from its Chinese title track, ‘Light Years Away.’
Adding another layer to the 2025 Worlds song is Italian DJ Anyma, known for collaborations with artists like Ellie Goulding. His sound is undeniably futuristic, reminiscent of ‘Cyberpunk 2077,’ with driving basslines and intricate electronica. After a quick listen to his track ‘Eternity’ on Spotify, it’s definitely going straight onto my playlist! However, the styles of G.E.M and Anyma seem quite distinct, making me incredibly curious about how their collaboration will sound when the official music video drops in October.
G.E.M won’t be alone on the Worlds stage; she’ll be joined by familiar League of Legends voices, Chrissy Costanza and TEYA. This dynamic duo previously teamed up for ‘Bite Marks,’ a track that, for me, stands out as one of the best League of Legends songs ever released.
To commemorate 15 years of League of Legends Worlds, the iconic Summoner’s Cup is undergoing a stunning transformation. If you’re an old-school fan, this redesign is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face! After a more modern, streamlined version was introduced in 2022, the 2025 trophy returns to its origins, featuring the five hooded Summoner figures. This detail is a heartfelt tribute to the game’s foundational lore, where players ‘summoned’ champions rather than directly embodying them.
Adding to the celebrations, Riot is also releasing two exquisite new elite chromas. These will be available for the beloved 2017 Samsung Galaxy skinline and the 2018 Invictus Gaming cosmetics. Expect these dazzling additions with patch 25.20, slated for Wednesday, October 8th, with Riot confirming their arrival on the PBE very soon.
All in all, there’s quite a bit to get excited about. Personally, I wasn’t captivated by the 2022 Summoner’s Cup design, and it felt like a departure from League’s storied past. So, I’m genuinely pleased to see a return to those beloved roots for this momentous occasion. My main reservation, however, remains with the anthem itself. The idea of a Taylor Swift-esque ballad for a League of Legends Worlds song feels like an unusual mix, but G.E.M’s talent is undeniable, and I’m keenly anticipating what she’ll deliver on stage.
Mark your calendars! The highly anticipated League of Legends Worlds song for 2025, featuring Chinese singing sensation G.E.M and Italian DJ Anyma, is set to be unveiled this October.
