Adding to the anticipation, the handset has reportedly received certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website, strongly suggesting its imminent release in the country. This new Agni series phone is expected to succeed last year’s Lava Agni 3 model. Early reports indicate that the Lava Agni 4 5G could be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset and feature a robust 7,000mAh battery. Users can also look forward to a dual rear camera setup and a spacious 6.78-inch display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.
Lava Agni 4 5G Receives BIS Certification, Launch Nears
The BIS listing for the upcoming Lava Agni 4 5G identifies the handset with the model number LXX525. This crucial certification was reportedly granted on September 15, hinting that the device is on track for its official unveiling.
While Lava has confirmed a November launch for the Agni 4 5G, the exact launch date remains under wraps. Furthermore, the company has yet to officially disclose whether the device will indeed support 5G connectivity, though the name suggests it will.
Earlier this month, the Indian smartphone manufacturer offered a sneak peek of the Lava Agni 4, showcasing it in a sleek black color. The teaser revealed a distinctive horizontally aligned, pill-shaped module for its rear camera.
Lava Agni 4: Expected Price and Key Specifications
The Lava Agni 4 is rumored to be priced at approximately Rs. 25,000 in the Indian market. It is anticipated to boast a 6.78-inch full-HD+ display, offering a fluid 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the handset is expected to be equipped with a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset, coupled with UFS 4.0 storage for fast performance. A significant highlight is its expected battery capacity, which is projected to exceed 7,000mAh.
In terms of photography, the Lava Agni 4 is tipped to feature a dual rear camera system, comprising two powerful 50-megapixel sensors. However, details regarding the selfie camera and the Android version it will run on are still unconfirmed.
The Lava Agni 4 is positioned as the successor to the Lava Agni 3. The previous model made its debut in India in October last year, with its base variant (8GB RAM + 128GB storage) priced at Rs. 20,999.
Key specifications of the Lava Agni 3 included a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 7300X chipset, a 16-megapixel selfie camera, 8GB of RAM, up to 256GB of onboard storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging.
Additionally, the Lava Agni 3 featured a unique 1.74-inch AMOLED touchscreen on its rear panel and a triple rear camera setup, which included a 50-megapixel primary sensor alongside two 8-megapixel shooters.
