On Thursday, October 2, 2025, the Kremlin officially acknowledged that the United States and the NATO military alliance routinely provide intelligence to Ukraine. This statement followed news reports suggesting Washington would offer Ukraine specific intelligence regarding Russian energy infrastructure targets.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov emphasized this point to journalists, stating, “The United States of America transmits intelligence to Ukraine on a regular basis online.”
Peskov further elaborated on Russia’s perspective, adding, “The supply and use of the entire infrastructure of NATO and the United States to collect and transfer intelligence to Ukrainians is obvious.”
These remarks from Moscow come amidst reports from the Wall Street Journal and Reuters, which indicated that the U.S. plans to furnish Ukraine with intelligence on Russian energy targets that are long-range. This development is particularly significant as Washington concurrently evaluates whether to send Kyiv missiles capable of being used in such strikes.
