Kim Kardashian Questions Moon Landing, NASA Sets the Record Straight

In a definitive statement on Thursday, Sean Duffy, the acting administrator for NASA, publicly confirmed the undisputed fact of the 1969 moon landing, where American astronauts made history.

Duffy’s clarification came in response to comments made by reality television personality Kim Kardashian. On a recent episode of ‘The Kardashians,’ streamed on Hulu, she voiced her belief that the iconic lunar mission was fabricated.

Shortly after the episode aired, Duffy directly addressed Kardashian in a social media post, stating unequivocally, “Yes, we’ve been to the Moon before. 6 times!”

The scene depicts Kardashian scrolling through her phone, chatting with co-star Sarah Paulson. She then begins to read from an article that purportedly quoted Buzz Aldrin, the second man to step on the moon, discussing the most frightening moment of the Apollo 11 mission.

Kardashian’s reading included Aldrin’s alleged response: “There was no scary moment because it didn’t happen. It could’ve been scary, but it wasn’t because it didn’t happen.”

She then added, almost casually, that she frequently engages with conspiracy theories.

While the source of the article remained unnamed, Kardashian assured Paulson she would send her “a million” similar pieces of content.

Paulson, seemingly intrigued, declared her intention to undertake a “serious deep dive” into the subject.

It’s important to note that Buzz Aldrin has never actually denied the 1969 Apollo 11 moon landing. In fact, one of the 20th century’s most iconic photographs captures Aldrin himself on the lunar surface, a moment famously captured by Neil Armstrong.

Kardashian persisted, telling Paulson, “I think it was fake.” She continued, “I’ve seen a few videos on Buzz Aldrin talking about how it didn’t happen. He says it all the time now, in interviews. Maybe we should find Buzz Aldrin.”

Aldrin, now 95, was not immediately available for comment.

In his social media statement, Duffy highlighted America’s current robust efforts to return to the moon. NASA is planning the Artemis II mission for early 2026, which will take astronauts on a 10-day journey to orbit the moon. While they won’t land, this mission will bring humans closer to the lunar surface than at any point in over 50 years.

He confidently declared, “We won the last space race and we will win this one too!”

Interestingly, Duffy himself has a background in reality television, having appeared on MTV’s ‘The Real World’ and ‘Road Rules’ in the 1990s. He extended an invitation to Ms. Kardashian to attend the upcoming Artemis launch at the Kennedy Space Center, though her attendance status remains unconfirmed.
