The vibrant energy of K-pop filled the air as the eight-member group YOUNITE took the stage for their much-anticipated India debut at the Rang De Korea event. The band, clearly thrilled by the overwhelming reception, shared their elation about the warm welcome they received in Delhi.
“Honestly, this trip feels unreal,” expressed lead vocalist Steve, still riding the high from their performance. “It’s our first time in India, and we’ve felt so loved and welcomed.” Beyond the cheers of their fans, the band also found themselves captivated by Delhi’s culinary scene, with street food and curries leaving a lasting impression. Steve specifically praised the “strong flavours of herbs like cilantro (coriander)” that make Indian food so delicious.
Amidst their busy schedule of sound checks and exploring the city, YOUNITE also delved into the local music scene. Rapper Dey revealed, “We’ve been listening to Hanumankind. Big Dawgs is on repeat. It would be awesome to collaborate with him. I think we could make something really fun together.”
The ‘Rang De Korea’ festival offered more than just the band’s performance, featuring traditional Korean dances and impressive martial arts displays by the Kukkiwon Taekwondo Demonstration Team, which enthralled the audience. Many fans even dressed in Korean-inspired outfits, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Concluding their remarks, singer Eunho sent a heartfelt message to their Indian fans: “Indian fans, you guys are amazing! Keep supporting us and we’ll return to give all this love back to you.”
