Actor Jim Sarbh, at 38, found himself playfully included in a social media list of ‘hot at 50 Bollywood actors.’ His witty response on X, “I stay fit at 50 by being 38,” perfectly captures his lighthearted take on the age mix-up. When asked about the flattering yet inaccurate ‘hottest men’ list, Sarbh chuckled, attributing the error to his visible gray hair and two broken hips. “I think they see the gray hair and my two broken hips and they’re like ‘he must be 50’,” he quipped.
Sarbh recently starred alongside Manoj Bajpayee in ‘Inspector Zende,’ portraying the notorious French serial killer Charles Sobhraj. He admits that such unconventional characters seem to be his forte, though he’s open to more conventional roles. “I think what happens is that you play some things and then the idea of you becomes the truth, as opposed to the real you,” he mused, emphasizing how perceptions can shape casting decisions.
In ‘Inspector Zende,’ Bajpayee played Inspector Zende, the officer who apprehended Sobhraj twice. The film offers a unique take on the serial killer’s second arrest, culminating in a confrontation between Sarbh and Bajpayee’s characters that’s choreographed as a dance. Sarbh humorously described their on-screen dynamic, stating, “We’ve been joking that we had the most intimate scenes in this film together.” He further elaborated on the unique filming experience: “My character… was treated very seriously – sociopath, detached and ruthless. And then we went to Manori (Goa) and they showed me the choreography for our big fight. And I thought, ‘But we’re dancing.’ …So that was a lot of fun when the worlds clashed.”
