Sky Roberts, the brother of Virginia Giuffre, has shared that his family is feeling a mix of emotions after Prince Andrew announced he would be giving up his royal titles. Roberts described the day as one where they shed “happy and sad tears,” expressing that the developments bring a sense of vindication for Virginia.
Prince Andrew has faced intense scrutiny due to his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Ms. Giuffre, who tragically passed away earlier this year, had previously stated that she was among many vulnerable young women exploited by Epstein and his associates. She alleged that the Duke of York had sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions, including in 2001 when she was 17.
In a statement accompanying his decision to step back from public duties and surrender his titles, Prince Andrew maintained his vehement denial of the accusations made against him.
