Battlefield 6 delivers an exhilarating FPS experience, but its massive popularity can sometimes lead to connectivity issues and frustratingly long queue times. It can be tricky to tell if the problem lies with the game’s servers or your own hardware. We’re here to provide you with all the essential information regarding the current Battlefield 6 server status and help you get back into the action.
For PC players, it’s worth noting that enabling secure boot is a requirement for Battlefield 6. Be sure to check our dedicated guide on how to activate secure boot if you haven’t already.
Battlefield 6 Server Status
October 20 Update:
As of October 20, Battlefield 6 servers are broadly active and functioning for many players. However, searches for “servers” and “down” are highly trending today, suggesting a significant number of players are encountering problems. This coincides with a major Amazon Web Services (AWS) outage that is affecting numerous internet services, including several video games. The DownDetector website has also reported a massive surge in Battlefield outage reports on October 20.
While EA’s official server status page currently shows all its games, including Battlefield 6, as operational, your personal experience may vary, particularly given the broader internet disruptions.
During peak hours, Battlefield 6 utilizes a queueing system, similar to what was observed during the BF6 beta weekends. If you find yourself with a queue position exceeding 400,000, anticipate a wait time of approximately 13-15 minutes before entering a game. However, don’t be overly concerned by numbers above 200,000; during the beta, these often cleared within just a few minutes.
At the launch of Battlefield 6, the Battlefield Comms social media team assured players they were working to let “as many of you in” as possible, aiming for “relatively short” queues. For Steam users who notice the “Play” button is missing upon launch, simply restarting the Steam client should resolve this.
The development team has also acknowledged an issue where certain players are receiving an error message, sometimes incorrectly prompting them to purchase DLC they already own. This is currently under investigation.
A key point to remember: if you begin playing the campaign and later wish to switch to multiplayer, you will need to rejoin the queue. This is because the campaign runs on a separate client.
Some players are reporting other errors, such as the game not appearing as released on Steam; forcing a Steam restart via Task Manager should fix this. If you encounter messages stating the game hasn’t been purchased after queuing, try closing and reopening your storefront on PC, or restarting your console.

You can refer to the official EA website for their server status, though updates might be delayed during peak times. We recommend bookmarking this page for the most up-to-date information.
