The iQOO 15, poised to be the successor to the iQOO 13, is expected to launch in China this month. In the lead-up to its official release, the company has been revealing exciting details about its flagship smartphone. It’s now confirmed that the iQOO 15 will boast an impressive IP68 and IP69 rating, providing robust protection against dust and water. Additionally, the device will feature a next-generation 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, enhanced with wet touch support for seamless unlocking.

Enhanced Durability and Advanced Features

iQOO officially shared these advancements on the Chinese social media platform, Weibo. The phone’s IP68 rating ensures it is entirely dustproof and can withstand continuous immersion in water under specific conditions. Furthermore, the IP69 rating signifies its resilience against high-temperature and high-pressure water jets, offering exceptional durability.

Beyond its rugged exterior, the iQOO 15 will incorporate a cutting-edge 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. This technology, first seen in the iQOO 13, is expected to provide even faster and more secure biometric unlocking. A notable enhancement is its ability to recognize fingerprints even when fingers are wet, adding convenience for users.

These features complement earlier announcements about the iQOO 15’s charging innovations. It marks a significant milestone as the first iQOO flagship to support wireless charging. The device is also rumored to house a massive battery, exceeding 7,000mAh in capacity, promising extended usage.

An iQOO representative previously disclosed that the iQOO 15 will integrate “Global Direct Drive Power Supply 2.0” (as translated from Chinese). This advanced technology is designed to safeguard the battery and extend its overall lifespan, especially during demanding activities like gaming or video playback while the device is charging.

Under the hood, the iQOO 15 is confirmed to be a performance powerhouse, making it the company’s first device to feature Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. This cutting-edge processor boasts a 2+6-core architecture, delivering impressive speeds with a maximum clock rate of 4.6GHz.

Visually, the iQOO 15 will stun with its 6.85-inch 2K 8T LTPO Samsung “Everest” display, offering a super smooth 144Hz refresh rate. This vibrant panel promises an exceptional viewing experience with up to 6,000 nits of peak local brightness and 2,600 nits of full-screen brightness. Gamers will appreciate the ultra-responsive 3,200Hz instant touch response, further optimized by iQOO’s exclusive Q3 gaming chip.

As the launch date approaches, more exciting specifications and features of the iQOO 15 are expected to be unveiled.
