Infinix’s Note 60 Series Embraces Snapdragon Power
Infinix is gearing up for a significant global launch, introducing its Note 60 series to various markets. A key highlight is the confirmed debut of the Infinix Note 60 Pro in Nigeria very soon. The company has now announced that select models within this upcoming Note 60 lineup will, for the first time, be powered by Snapdragon mobile platforms. This move marks a notable departure for Infinix, which has primarily relied on MediaTek chipsets for its recent smartphone releases. Early teasers already confirm the Infinix Note 60 Pro will feature the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 5G chipset.
The shift to Snapdragon is a strategic collaboration with Qualcomm. Infinix’s CEO, Tony Zhao, expressed enthusiasm about this partnership, stating, “We are excited to collaborate with industry leader Qualcomm Technologies. This important step for Infinix advances our mission for a tailored user experience through in-depth hardware-software integration, utilizing Snapdragon platforms and technologies to deliver greater innovation and quality for customers globally.”
Historically, Infinix has predominantly integrated MediaTek chipsets, especially Dimensity 5G processors, across its Hot, Note, and GT smartphone series. For instance, the recently unveiled Infinix Note Edge features a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 SoC. However, the brand has previously used Snapdragon processors in its tablet range, such as the Infinix Xpad GT, indicating some prior experience with Qualcomm’s technology.
The Infinix Note 60 family is anticipated to include three models: the Infinix Note 60 Pro, Note 60, and Note 60 Ultra. Notably, the Ultra model has been co-designed with Pininfarina, suggesting a premium aesthetic. A compelling feature across all models in the new series is confirmed support for satellite communication.
Further details for the Infinix Note 60 Pro’s launch in markets like Nigeria are steadily emerging. The device is expected to come in attractive color options like Silk Green, Solar Orange, and Torino Black, and will sport a distinctive Rear Matrix Display design. Beyond its Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 5G chipset, the Note 60 Pro is set to impress with a 1.5K resolution display offering a smooth 144Hz refresh rate. Other significant features include a 3D IceCore VC chamber for cooling, a powerful 50-megapixel rear camera, and a substantial 6,500mAh battery with rapid 90W charging capabilities.
