IIT Bombay Extends UCEED Registration Deadline for Aspiring Designers
An important update for all design enthusiasts! The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has officially extended the registration deadline for the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) 2026. This extension provides a much-welcomed longer window for candidates to submit their applications, following a notable surge in registrations this season.
According to the official notification released on October 31, candidates now have until Wednesday, November 5, 2025, to complete their registration with the regular fee. For those who might miss this initial deadline, there’s a further opportunity to apply with a late fee until 5 PM on Monday, November 10, 2025.
Important Dates for UCEED 2026 Admissions:
- Last date for registration with regular fee: November 5, 2025 (Previously October 31, 2025)
- Last date for registration with late fee: November 10, 2025 (till 5 PM) (Previously November 7, 2025)
- Admit card release: January 2, 2026 (Unchanged)
- Examination date: January 18, 2026 (Unchanged)
Steps to Register for UCEED 2026:
Follow these simple steps to successfully register for the UCEED exam:
- Visit the official UCEED website.
- Locate and click on the ‘Registration Portal’ link for UCEED 2026.
- Create a new account using a valid email ID and password.
- Verify your email address via the confirmation link sent to you.
- Log in using your new credentials to begin the application process.
- Carefully fill in all your personal, academic, and contact details.
- Upload scanned copies of all required documents in the specified format.
- Select three preferred exam cities in order of your priority.
- Pay the registration fee online, based on your category.
- Review all the information you’ve entered before final submission.
- Submit the form and download the confirmation page for your records.
UCEED 2026 Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants from Science, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities streams are all eligible to apply, provided they meet the specific age and educational qualifications.
- Age Criteria:
- For OPEN, EWS, OBC-NCL categories: Date of birth on or after October 1, 2001.
- For SC, ST, PwD categories: Date of birth on or after October 1, 1996.
Candidates must have appeared for their Class 12 (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2025 or 2026. Those who appeared before 2024 are not eligible. UCEED allows a maximum of two consecutive attempts.
UCEED 2026 Registration Fees by Category:
The registration fee varies depending on your category and nationality. All fees must be paid online during the registration process.
- Indian nationals – Female candidates (all categories): ₹2,000
- Indian nationals – SC, ST, PwD candidates: ₹2,000
- Indian nationals – All other candidates: ₹4,000
- Foreign nationals (OCI/PIO before March 4, 2021) – Female & PwD candidates: ₹2,000
- Foreign nationals (OCI/PIO before March 4, 2021) – All others: ₹4,000
- Foreign nationals (OCI/PIO on or after March 4, 2021) – SAARC countries: USD 200
- Foreign nationals (OCI/PIO on or after March 4, 2021) – Non-SAARC countries: USD 250
