In a touching and grand farewell, IAS officer Sanskriti Jain was celebrated by her staff and colleagues as she prepared to leave Seoni district in Madhya Pradesh for her new role in Bhopal. The ceremony was marked by a unique and regal send-off, with Jain being carried on a beautifully adorned golden palanquin.
Accompanied by her two daughters, Sanskriti Jain was seated on the ornate palanquin, which was carried by her colleagues. The event, held recently, served both to bid a fond farewell to Jain and to welcome the new collector of Seoni district, Sheetala Patle. The heartfelt send-off for Jain, a 2015 batch IAS officer, was captured in visuals that have since circulated widely.
Sanskriti Jain has been transferred from her position as Collector of Seoni district to take up the role of Commissioner of the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC). She has also been assigned the additional charge of Additional Managing Director for the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited.
A Look at IAS Sanskriti Jain’s Journey
Born on February 14, 1989, in Srinagar, Sanskriti Jain’s parents, who served in the Indian Air Force, influenced her early life with their frequent postings, leading her to study in six different schools across India. After graduating from BITS Pilani (Goa campus) and completing the LAMP Fellowship, she initially considered pursuing a PhD.
However, on a friend’s suggestion, she shifted her focus to the Civil Services Examination. She successfully cleared the UPSC exam on her first attempt, became an IRS officer on her second, and finally joined the IAS in her third attempt, achieving an impressive All India Rank of 11 in the 2014 examination. She also notably secured the highest marks in Philosophy, her chosen optional subject, in the same year.
As a 2015-batch IAS officer from the Madhya Pradesh cadre, Sanskriti Jain has a distinguished career history, having served in various significant administrative positions. These include her roles as Commissioner of Rewa Municipal Corporation, Additional Collector of Satna, Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Mauganj, and Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat in Alirajpur and Narmadapuram.
