Fast-moving consumer goods powerhouse Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) just shared some great news from its second quarter, which ended in September 2025. The company announced a strong 3.8% increase in its consolidated net profit, hitting an impressive ₹2,694 crore!
This marks a healthy jump from the ₹2,595 crore profit recorded during the same July-September period last year, according to their recent regulatory submission.
Revenue figures also showed positive momentum, rising by 2.1% to reach ₹16,034 crore for the September quarter. This compares favorably to the ₹15,703 crore revenue generated in the year-ago quarter.
HUL’s earnings statement highlighted a “consolidated Underlying Sales Growth (USG) of 2%” alongside a “flat Underlying Volume Growth (UVG)” for the September quarter. The company noted that its performance during this period was temporarily affected by recent GST changes and extended monsoon weather in certain regions of India.
During the September quarter, HUL’s total expenses saw a 3.32% increase, amounting to ₹12,999 crore.
Factoring in other income streams, the company’s total income rose by 1.5% to reach ₹16,388 crore.
In a significant decision made during its board meeting on Thursday, October 23, 2025, HUL’s board approved an interim dividend of ₹19 per share for the upcoming fiscal year 2026.
Priya Nair, HUL’s CEO and Managing Director, commented on the results, stating, “We achieved a competitive performance this quarter, marked by a 2% Underlying Sales Growth and a strong EBITDA margin of 23.2%.”
She highlighted that the government’s latest GST reforms are a positive development aimed at boosting consumption, anticipating an increase in disposable income and a lift in consumer confidence. However, she also acknowledged a temporary market adjustment period during the quarter due to these changes.
Nair expressed optimism, “We expect trading conditions to normalize by early November, once prices stabilize, which should set the stage for a gradual yet sustained market recovery.”
Following these announcements on Thursday, October 23, 2025, HUL’s shares were trading at ₹2,623.45 each on the BSE, showing a positive movement of 1.20% in morning trading.
